# How to disable HTTP stream

Disabling the HTTP stream can greatly improve the conversion speeds for documents that link to a lot of external resources (for example images and CSS files from old newsletter emails).

A grey image placeholder will be displayed in the place of the external image.

To disable the HTTP stream navigate to **Settings > PDF settings** in your Seascape database and open the settings configuration document you are using for PDF conversions:

![](/files/-MlV8XSTg2a3RDYqZmYb)

Now change the **Enable HTTP Stream** option to **No** and save your settings:

![](/files/-MlV8gPfB5fnkOEA6-ff)

{% hint style="info" %}
If you don't want to completely disable the HTTP stream it is also possible to set a timeout by setting the **HTTP timeout** option on the **General** tab to desired number of seconds (greater than zero).
{% endhint %}

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.swingsoftware.com/seascape-for-notes/faq/how-to-disable-http-stream.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
