# How to update a Seascape archive

Below are the instructions to update the Seascape web archives design to the latest version:

1\. [Download Seascape Viewer Updater](https://www.swingsoftware.com/download/dl-ssc) and run the application (you will need to have Administrator rights).

2\. Select the folder that contains your web archive(s). Click Update and all the archives will be updated to the latest version including the archive catalog

{% hint style="info" %}
If you select the "Update catalog only" option, only the catalog page will be updated. Otherwise the Archive Updater will update both the catalog page and every database in the archive.
{% endhint %}

By clicking on "Validate archives", the updater will go through all the databases in the archive, and check if they have any errors. A confirmation message will be shown.
{% endhint %}

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.swingsoftware.com/seascape-for-notes/faq/how-to-update-a-seascape-archive.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
