Flex search

Search on the catalog

You can now use the search box on the catalog to search across all databases in the catalog or you can click on the search options icon to open the dialog which allows you to search only through databases in the selected category, selected design template, from the selected country, server or organizational unit.

You can also narrow down your search using form and metadata filters, and select a date range for when the documents were created or modified by specific users.

The search will go through all of your PDF records, attachments, and metadata.

Seascape Flex will search your archive and display the matching results as shown in the below example.

To view the attachments and metadata for any record in the search results, simply expand the sidebar on the right of your screen, and select one of the documents in the search results.

If you wish to filter the catalog view and not search the archive's records, simply click on the dropdown in front of the search box and select Search catalog columns.

The Search box now switches to the mode which allows you to quickly locate specific databases in the catalog.

Search in the database

You can use the search box in the specific database to perform a full-text search on that database. It works the same as the full-text search on the catalog just without the option to filter databases.

If you wish to filter the view documents and not search the archive's records, simply click on the dropdown in front of the search box and select Search view columns.

It is also possible to use AND and OR operators for search in the database (make sure to write the operators using uppercase).
