# How to search PDF attachments

To search for phrases in PDF attachments using Adobe Reader X, click Edit (1) -> Advanced Search (2). 

Click on the below image for a bigger display.

**Note**: The Advanced Search menu may appear in a different location in other PDF reader software and may also be labelled differently.

In the pop-up which appears enter your search phrase (3), check the Include Attachments check-box (4) and hit Search.
